Optum is a global organization dedicated to delivering care and enhancing health outcomes through technology. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in connecting patients with the resources they need to live healthier lives.
The company's mission is to make the healthcare system work better for everyone, regardless of background or income level. To achieve this goal, Optum focuses on mitigating its environmental impact and addressing health disparities.
We are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive work environment that fosters diversity and promotes career growth. If you share our passion for improving healthcare outcomes and are passionate about making a difference, we encourage you to consider joining our team.
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting a clinical team that delivers exceptional patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients, checking them in and out, ensuring accurate demographics and insurance information, and collecting co-pays. You will also schedule appointments, verify visit types and primary care providers, and manage waiting rooms to ensure cleanliness and effective communication with patients.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you may be asked to float to other practices as needed. This requires reliability and a willingness to adapt to new environments. You will also have opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge by working with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow, resolving service issues, and processing incoming films/CDs and returns.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical plan options, dental and vision insurance, life and AD&D coverage, and 401(k) savings plans. Our commitment to employee well-being extends beyond these benefits, with programs designed to promote work-life balance and support mental health.
To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to multitask effectively, and understand verbal and written instructions. A high school diploma/GED or higher is required, along with BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days). One year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, is also essential.
We strive to create a healthy work environment that supports the physical and mental well-being of our employees. Our Nevada location offers competitive base pay between $16.00 and $28.27 per hour, depending on your qualifications and experience. In addition to your salary, you can enjoy a range of benefits, including education reimbursement, employee discounts, and access to our Employee Assistance Program.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills and expertise. Join us at Optum and contribute to a brighter future for individuals and communities across the globe.
At Optum, we value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. We celebrate individual differences and strive to provide equal employment opportunities for all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
