About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Operations Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our talented team of professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional services in flight operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Piloting aircraft for various missions, including fire reconnaissance and air attack flights
- Maintaining current certification to fly agency aircraft, which may include jets, turboprop single- and/or multi-engine airplanes, rotorcraft helicopter or other equipment owned or leased by the agency
- Conducting external load operations, mountain flying above 5,000 feet mean sea level, and transporting personnel, cargo, and equipment to various locations within and outside the State
- Assisting the incident commander in directing air operations and coordinating with ground crews and equipment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and 2,500 hours logged, pilot-in-command total flight time in fixed-wing aircraft and/or rotorcraft
- A valid second-class medical certificate issued by an authorized FAA medical examiner
- A valid commercial pilot certificate with rotorcraft helicopter rating, including instrument rating issued by the FAA
- Special requirements, including a pre-employment screening for controlled substances
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $63,308.16 to $94,335.84, based on experience and qualifications. The exact salary will be determined at the time of appointment.
