Job Overview

1. Summary of Job Purpose:
Assemble Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and their components while ensuring adherence to quality, service, and efficiency standards.

2. Key Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize hand tools, measuring instruments, and grinding machines to construct modules and engines. Disassemble modules for inspection using hand tools and cleaning agents.
  • Execute all necessary tasks for the assembly and disassembly of turbine parts in accordance with relevant job instructions, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct all required testing, including Automated Test Procedures (ATP) on all APUs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering for failure analysis as required.
  • Install necessary instrumentation as directed by engineering for both development and flight test engines.
  • Identify potential issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Assist other departments with general manufacturing tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support Quality personnel with in-process inspections as necessary.
  • Operate forklifts and remote-controlled cranes safely, following training guidelines to ensure personnel safety and product integrity.
  • Engage in the company’s Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs.

3. Scope and Accountability:
Accurately complete all required documentation.

4. Required Qualifications; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Airframe and Powerplant certification is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engine design and ability to assist in analysis with both manufacturing and design engineering.
Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, and Excel is advantageous.

  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and strong interpersonal skills applicable to daily job functions.
  • A self-directed, proactive approach with a problem-solving mindset is essential.
Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.
  • Required to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 35 pounds.



  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing job duties, exposure to moving mechanical parts is common.

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
