Responsibilities- Handle inbound and outbound communications for our offices, including appointment scheduling, visit preparation, medication refills, and reconciliation, and follow-up care coordination.
- Communicate via phone, online chats, emails, and faxes with patients in a professional manner.
- Use pre-defined clinical protocols to obtain and document required clinical information.
- Identify special needs and take the proper steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled appropriately.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask so that priority items are completed on time each day.
- Appropriately escalate issues outside of existing protocols to meet the needs of the patient.
- Update medical history based on the information provided by the patient.
- Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information.
- Assist on the floor if needed.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) required.
- 2-3 years related experience, preferably in a Primary Care setting.
- Fluent in medical terminology and medication refill protocols.
- Must have experience in a pediatrics practice as a triage nurse or MA.
- High level of emotional intelligence and an empathy-first approach to working with patients' parents and caregivers.
- Thrive in a team-centered environment.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
- Handle administrative duties in a timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experienced in properly handling confidential and sensitive information; knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems.
- 9:00-5:00 (Monday-Friday).
- Expected hours: 32-35 per week.
- No weekends.
