Job Description

The Robotics Coach will be responsible for establishing and leading a robotics team at Tolsia High School. The team will compete in VEX Robotics competitions and will require the coach to handle all logistics, including fundraising efforts to cover costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and conduct robotics teams
  • Conduct selection process for determining team members
  • Schedule and supervise team(s) at robotics competitions
  • Coordinate/assign responsibilities of team members
  • Supervise team members when practicing and competing
  • Foster a climate conducive to learning and healthy, ethical competition
  • Establish and implement practice schedules for the team(s)
  • Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
  • Maintain professional work habits
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications
  • Holds a West Virginia Teaching Certificate
  • Experience preferred with VEX Robotics equipment and competitions
  • Ability to effectively plan for team activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
