Phlebotomy Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced phlebotomist to join our team as a Phlebotomy Supervisor. As a Phlebotomy Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of phlebotomists in our Patient Service Centers and physician's offices. You will be responsible for managing patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels, as well as monitoring monthly productivity and reporting any deviations as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of phlebotomists and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Manage patient flow and wait times to ensure a positive patient experience
  • Monitor and report on monthly productivity and inventory levels
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules and perform operational duties such as payroll and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train new phlebotomists to fill open positions
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including patients, client office staff, and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency a plus
  • Previous experience as a phlebotomist; 4 years preferred
  • Prior supervisor experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
