POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) is to embody the mission of PATH by assisting individuals in achieving greater independence and fulfillment. As a vital team member, the CPS will engage in crisis intervention, support, safety planning, and resource linkage for youth and families in the Northeast Philadelphia area. Drawing from personal lived experience, the CPS will provide valuable support and perspective. The program operates year-round, 24/7.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Behavioral Health sector
- Certification as a PA Peer Specialist
- Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to receive the vaccine
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct crisis assessments, interventions, education, and support in collaboration with assigned team members, adhering to designated timelines for referrals received from DBH/CBH.
- Utilize personal lived experience to connect with individuals in crisis and assist in developing effective crisis support plans.
- Implement approved evidence-based practices and tools during crisis assessment and intervention, including SAMHSA guidelines and resolution models.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal physical demands are expected in this role.
