Job Title: Oncology Nurse Navigator

New England Cancer Specialists is seeking a skilled Oncology Nurse Navigator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals with cancer and blood disorders.

Job Summary:

The Oncology Nurse Navigator will serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient assessments and triage care needs over the phone and in the office
  • Offer advice and counsel to patients and families, as well as advise physicians on patient needs and recommended interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, RN peers, Patient Care Coordinators, and other clinical and non-clinical personnel within and outside the practice
  • Coordinate patient care responsibilities within the scope of the practice for licensed and unlicensed healthcare providers
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, in-services, and continuing education programs
Requirements:
  • Licensed Nurse within the State of Maine required
  • 2-5 years plus nursing professional experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Two years of Hematology/Chemotherapy/Oncology nursing experience preferred
  • OCN Certification Preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff
  • Must be detail-oriented, have strong follow-up skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities
