About the Role

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill the role of Assistant Director in the Financial Reporting and Asset Accounting Directorate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of financial reporting and asset accounting tasks.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve financial governance and risk management practices within the Directorate.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial advice and support, ensuring alignment with Defence's financial objectives and strategies.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, business areas, and procurement teams.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve financial systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
