Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at AEG. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities, ensuring seamless event execution, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Operations in coordinating facility operations, including budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate event changeovers, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate staff, providing or coordinating staff training and implementing discipline and termination procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate labor hours for staff and temporary workers, reporting on labor allocations to the Director of Finance.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget, forecasting additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Monitor and approve expenditures, implementing adjustments as necessary.
  • Coordinate facility arrangements with the Director of Operations and monitor the work of contractors, including equipment rental and borrowing.
  • Ensure staff is working safely, efficiently, and aware of proper safety guidelines.
  • Order supplies and materials for custodial needs and receive and maintain supplies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3-5) years' experience in an operations position in an arena, convention center, or public assembly facility with knowledge of set up/housekeeping and event coordination.
  • Progressive supervisory responsibility and experience with OSHA requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management, etc.) preferred; High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended consecutive days.
  • Forklift and Scissor Lift certification preferred.
