Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Quality Engineer or Staff Quality Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects in the aerospace sector. This role is based in Palmdale, California, and requires an active Secret Clearance. The position does not offer telecommuting options, and the standard work schedule is a 4/10 work week, providing employees with every Friday off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Quality Assurance principles across programs to ensure adherence to contractual, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Coordinate and execute engineering activities, ensuring comprehensive quality and detail in all Integrated Product Team (IPT) plans.
  • Develop and execute a Mission Assurance plan that aligns with contractual obligations and stakeholder objectives.
  • Identify and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Conduct investigations into quality issues, implementing corrective actions based on root cause analysis.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment with diverse assignments and collaborative efforts across various levels.
  • Provide technical assessments and guidance to resolve complex issues.
  • Support engineering processes throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, aerospace) with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 7 years; or a PhD with 4 years.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering systems and Department of Defense specifications.
  • Experience in systems engineering principles and tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Possession of an active DoD Secret Clearance and capability to obtain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, aerospace).
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with program access.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $120,900 - $181,300 and $149,900 - $224,900, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
