Key Responsibilities of the Senior Principal Quality Engineer:

  • Oversee the application of Quality Assurance principles throughout the program to guarantee adherence to contractual, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Facilitate the coordination and execution of all engineering tasks, ensuring that all individual Integrated Product Team (IPT) plans meet the required quality, thoroughness, and detail (technical, cost, schedule).
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Mission Assurance strategy for the program, along with supporting plans that align with contractual obligations and stakeholder objectives.
  • Promote and execute continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing actions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational processes.
  • Analyze quality issues, challenges, and failures through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Excel in a dynamic work environment characterized by high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative efforts across all organizational levels.
  • Conduct technical assessments, provide expert guidance, and devise resolution strategies.
  • Support and advise on all program engineering processes from inception to completion.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, aerospace) with a minimum of 9 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 7 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience.
  • Proven ability to operate with minimal supervision in a multidisciplinary team environment, offering insights and solutions to complex technical and procedural challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of engineering systems, along with DoD Military specifications and standards.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with systems engineering principles, disciplines, and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies.
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance and the capability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, aerospace).
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with program access.

Salary Range: $120,900 - $181,300
Salary Range 2: $149,900 - $224,900
The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman evaluates various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
