Laboratory Billing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Billing Specialist to join our team at McLaren Health Care. The successful candidate will work closely with the laboratory department and revenue cycle department leadership to resolve coding and billing problems that prevent submission of insurance claims and technical denials for claims not paid.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor daily workload and analyze progress of insurance claim submissions.
- Resolve coding and billing problems to ensure timely reimbursement of the claim.
- Maintain knowledge of coding/billing requirements, documentation requirements, and payer policies within the designated specialty.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all customers' needs.
- Communicate effectively and often with leadership and staff.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of billing or patient registration experience.
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Laboratory experience.
- Preferred: Billing and Coding Certificate, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 experience, Proficient in Microsoft Office.
