Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnology Specialist to join our team at Della Infotech. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing specialized cytology examinations to determine pathological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate technical cytological screening and interpretation of Gynecological and Non-Gynecological cytology samples.
  • Refer appropriate cases for hierarchical review and alert pathologists to abnormal cell structures for further examination.
  • Assist with coordinating FNA Procedure schedules between Endoscopy and Radiology areas.
  • Attend FNA Procedures and perform fine needle aspiration Rapid On-Site Evaluations in a timely fashion.
  • Process and prepare FNA ROSE specimens for examination, providing proper record keeping and labeling of slides and specimens.
  • Properly triage ancillary testing as needed.
  • Perform the proper setup/cleanup of the FNA Cart.
  • Accurately enter data and results within the laboratory information system.
  • Maintain screening workload and quality assurance records.
  • Serve as a technical resource and assist in investigating issues/concerns surrounding the daily operation of equipment and/or specimens.
  • Properly communicate scheduling or technical concerns to operational and medical leadership.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain Cytology inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating supply needs, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Collect data and prepare management reports of technological findings.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste, and other policies and protocols.
Requirements
  • 2+ Years of Experience - Required
  • Experienced in attending Fine Needle Aspirations to provide Rapid On-Site procedure coverage and specimen adequacy evaluations - Required
  • Able to perform both primary and QC screening - Required
  • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
Certification Requirements
  • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
  • BLS (AHA)
