Job Summary

Par Pacific is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You will work closely with our operations team to develop and implement effective environmental compliance strategies. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental compliance strategies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with operations team to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and proposed environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and near-misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Act as subject matter expert to provide advice and support to field locations on environmental matters.
  • Oversee the management and improvement of environmental systems and processes across the business.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on environmental standards and practices.
  • Monitor suspense dates for permitting and other environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of environmental programs and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental area within the manufacturing sector. Extensive experience in refining or petrochemical industries and 5 years of management experience is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of permitting processes and environmental management systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with agency stakeholders and regulators.
  • Professional certification (Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent) preferred.
