Job SummaryThe Payroll Specialist will be responsible for preparing and completing all payroll duties associated with bi-weekly payroll, including processing payroll and compiling payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and complete all payroll duties associated with bi-weekly payroll, including processing payroll and compiling payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all Payroll activities, processes, and reporting.
- Maintain awareness of laws and regulations directly impacting the company, including payroll and financial activities, and share knowledge/information with the Finance/Payroll team.
- Field and respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform duties associated with all applicable taxes, general ledger monthly closing, payroll journal recording, ad-hoc bank transactions, assisting with account reconciliations, analysis/reporting, garnishments.
- Facilitate and manage weekly, monthly, and/or annual company reporting, including company-specific and/or mandated Finance/Payroll reporting and SOX and Auditor required reporting, benefits/payroll administration, compensation administration, LOAs (Leaves of Absence).
- Create on-going month-end, quarterly, year-end, and ad-hoc organization reports for US and Canada, including compiling internal management reports.
- Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary payroll deductions.
- Process employee status changes in the Payroll/HRIS system, unemployment claims, and employment verifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
- 3+ years of payroll experience, including payroll processing, tax filing, tax reconciliation, and accounting experience related to payroll.
- Experience working with ADP (Workforce Now) Payroll system.
- Strong Excel skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with International payroll functions.
- Experience facilitating payroll for multiple entities.
