This role requires the ability to lead without direct authority, foster collaboration across diverse teams, and motivate action through effective leadership. Your responsibilities will include managing project timelines and overseeing the contributions of all project participants, including colleagues, contract manufacturers, and consultants. Typical collaborative projects may involve: technical development of new products (both in-house and through contracted manufacturing), resolving technical challenges in existing products, and conducting contracted research.

Key Responsibilities:

Commit to leadership regarding key deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements for new product initiatives. Analyze market demands, trends, segments, and competitive landscapes through primary and secondary research to formulate a compelling value proposition. Recognize, clarify, and manage moderate risks associated with the program. Communicate effectively with managers, functional leaders, area/business leaders, department heads, team members, project stakeholders, and division management on a regional level. Address and resolve project-related issues and conflicts, collaborating with functional or business management as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, ideally in Business or a Scientific Discipline. At least 5 years of experience in new product development and/or commercialization. Familiarity with the New Product Introduction process is essential. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Research & Product Development environment is preferred. Strong business acumen with an understanding of project objectives and their impact on the organization. Proactive problem identification, decision-making with limited information, and driving initiatives forward. Intermediate knowledge of business practices, customer requirements, cultural considerations, and regulatory standards for global product launches. Ability to apply effective problem-solving techniques to address moderately complex challenges in commercialization projects. Capacity to devise solutions for moderately complex issues, requiring creativity, innovation, and analytical thinking. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, presentation, and reporting skills. Aptitude for analyzing results and making informed recommendations. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, identify critical paths, and develop contingency plans. Proven capability to listen actively, articulate objectives clearly, and provide constructive feedback. Positive influence and an open-minded approach, with a passion for innovation. Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Core Competencies:

Business Acumen: In-depth understanding of how a business achieves its objectives. Strategic Thinking: Ability to devise effective plans aligned with organizational goals. Leading Through Influence: Capability to influence without formal authority. Initiative/Drive for Results: Setting ambitious yet attainable performance goals.
