Food and Beverage Operations Manager

As a Food and Beverage Operations Manager at Marriott International Inc, you will be responsible for supervising daily F&B shift operations and ensuring compliance with all F&B policies, standards, and procedures. Your primary goal will be to maintain the highest quality standards and meet the expectations of our customers on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for managing the operating budget and verifying that standards and legal obligations are followed.
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, and 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area. Alternatively, you can have a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, and 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
Core Work Activities
As a Food and Beverage Operations Manager, your core work activities will include:
Assisting in the ordering of F&B supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
Supervising daily F&B shift operations and monitoring compliance with all F&B policies, standards, and procedures.
Supporting and supervising an effective monthly self-inspection program.
Operating all department equipment as necessary and reporting malfunction.
Supervising staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Understanding employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.
Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Monitoring and maintaining the productivity level of employees.
Verifying that all team members/supervisors understand the brand-specific philosophy.
Maintaining the operating budget and verifying that standards and legal obligations are followed.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
As a Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention. You will also be responsible for improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed. You will serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors and manage day-to-day operations, monitor quality, and standards, and meet the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.
Additional Responsibilities
As a Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. You will provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. You will analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. You will perform hourly job functions if necessary and extend professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times. You will comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports and perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
