Job Summary:

  • The Nursing Support Specialist reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and independently implements the nursing process to provide safe and effective patient care in various hospital departments.
  • This role provides break relief and supplemental staffing to RNs in Emergency, Medical Surgical/Swing Bed, and Skilled Nursing departments.
  • The Nursing Support Specialist can work autonomously in any department for which they are trained and competent.
  • Maintaining proof of competency ensures quality patient care.

Patient Age Range: 0-120 years old

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of acute care experience within the past two years is required.
  • Recent experience in Emergency or Critical Care setting is preferred.

Licensing Requirements:

  • A current unencumbered California RN License is required.
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are necessary.

Language Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
