As a Patient Account Specialist Senior at Christus Health, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional medical collection services to our patients. This position requires a strong background in medical collections, with a focus on resolving accounts placed with our collection units. You will be responsible for performing collection activities, communicating with patients, clients, and external entities, while adhering to all client, state, and federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Collection Services: Provide effective collection services, ensuring the successful recovery of accounts in accordance with client and state guidelines, as well as our business objectives.
- Account Management: Document and update patient account information in our collection software system timely and accurately, including appropriate account status.
- Customer Service: Handle inbound patient and/or carrier calls promptly and professionally, providing assistance and resolution to account inquiries, issues, and requests.
- Research and Analysis: Perform research and analysis of account issues and strive to resolve problems timely and accurately.
- Productivity and Quality: Ensure daily productivity standards are met and quality standards are maintained, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Knowledge and Skills: Possess solid knowledge and utilization of desktop applications, including Word and Excel, as well as general hospital A/R account knowledge.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent years of experience required.
- Language: Bilingual preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience preferred, with a focus on customer service call center environment, healthcare billing/collections, or collection agency experience.
- Education and Certifications: College education, previous insurance company claims experience, and/or health care billing trade school education may be considered in lieu of formal hospital experience.
Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8AM - 5PM.
