Key Responsibilities:

  • Contacts insurance companies to follow up on payments due and ensures claims move to processing cycle.
  • Documents all correspondence from insurance companies regarding attempts to collect payment.
  • Identifies and resolves any problems that cause delays in payment and communicates with manager.
  • Audits accounts to ensure correct postings and adjustments of patient accounts. Reclassifies accounts when needed.
  • Assists Director of Business Office with month-end reporting as delegated.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Some college.
  • One year of experience with a hospital business system.
