Job Overview

Volt is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Austin, Texas. As an Assembly Line Worker, you will be responsible for building complex units for wiring, connecting sub-assemblies and nodes into large rack systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuit boards and routes wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Perform solder masking, taping non-solderable areas, installing e-proms into sockets, and placing labels on boards per production documents.
  • Properly load boards on pallets and inspect nonconforming solder join defects on PTH and SMT chips components.
  • Collect data using SPC charts and fill out returned forms of conforming and nonconforming materials.
  • Perform basic touch-up, removal, and placement, inspecting own work and the work of others following applicable work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Detect nonconforming defects and their defect codes to enter into shop floor control systems.
  • Report deviations from standard procedures to engineering or supervisor and provide inputs on quality improvements.
Requirements:
  • 6-12 months of manufacturing or related experience preferred.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
Compensation:

$17/hr for 1st shift, $18.70/hr for 2nd shift, $19.11/hr for 3rd shift. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
