The Cashier/Sales Associate (Softlines Associate) plays a crucial role in enhancing the shopping experience for Members and driving sales. This position involves providing courteous and proactive assistance to Members, ensuring that all apparel and home areas are well-maintained, visually appealing, and inviting for Members to explore.
Key Responsibilities:
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Take ownership of improving the Member experience in the store at every interaction. Deliver exceptional Member service by prioritizing their needs and demonstrating effective selling behaviors to identify needs and recommend suitable solutions.
• Knowledgeable about the benefits of Shop Your Way, credit and leasing options, as well as warranty and protection plans.
• Greet Members in a professional and engaging manner, showcasing a Member First experience and supporting local initiatives related to SYW.
• Accurately and efficiently process Member transactions using POS and online systems, including sales, returns, and exchanges, adhering to authorized procedures.
• Assist Members in locating desired products by guiding them through the store and aiding in merchandise selection.
• Ensure accurate and efficient transaction processing at the point-of-sale.
• Utilize integrated retail processes such as Web to Store and Store to Home to enhance the shopping experience for Members.
• Set up and maintain non-promotional, promotional, and seasonal signage, including store-wide and event signage, as assigned. Perform promotional ad setup and takedown accurately.
• Support store leadership in resolving Member issues when appropriate.
• Complete merchandise support tasks (e.g., fitting room maintenance, organizing merchandise) during non-peak hours.
• Stay informed about upcoming events, product updates, selling process requirements, and company initiatives.
• Adhere to merchandise protection standards.
• Maintain a well-prepared department throughout the day, ensuring the sales floor is easy to navigate, stocked, clean, signed, and organized for Members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Basic reading, arithmetic, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry bulky merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Engage in various physical movements required by the job, including reaching, stretching, and walking.
• Basic Internet navigation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous retail experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of relevant experience.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
