Environmental Scientist Role

Leidos is seeking an Environmental Scientist to contribute to our team's success. As an Environmental Scientist, you will work under the supervision of Senior Staff to provide office and field support for environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and monitoring at sites impacted by petroleum, chlorinated solvents, PFAS, or other contaminants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work on various site investigations and remediation projects under US state and Federal regulatory programs.
  • Prepare project documents, including work plans, technical memorandums, reports, tables, and figures, with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Focus on team project delivery, working with a project team and taking direction from Project Managers.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, site/facility personnel, client contacts, and regulators during field activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or a related field and 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience handling multiple project assignments and maintaining flexibility while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing and analysis skills.
  • OSHA hazardous waste worker certification and 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional trainings and certifications related to the environmental field.
  • Experience with knowledge of remediation technologies and remediation systems.
  • Prior experience managing fieldwork.
