Job Summary

The Orthodontic Assistant plays a vital role at Robinson & Ries Orthodontics, serving as the primary supporting person to our doctor team. This role involves assisting with various activities, working closely with doctors and patients, and striving to be a positive, friendly, and professional addition to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a trusting rapport with patients, ensuring exceptional patient customer service.
  • Educate patients on orthodontic care and treatment practices.
  • Work chairside with patient care, including assisting with placing and removing orthodontic appliances.
  • Take X-Rays, pictures, and fabricate retainers.
  • Maintain patients' charts and transcribe doctor notes accurately.
  • Keep patient rooms stocked and organized, and clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment.
  • Be receptive to coaching and training from doctors to develop skills.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Orthodontics and associated treatment appliances and equipment.
  • Action-oriented and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Compassion and high level of service for patients, parents, and staff.
  • Integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Dependable and reliable attendance.
  • Able to stay organized and follow instructions.
  • Professional manner and appearance at all times.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and Web Browser.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. 1-3 years of relative experience. Where required by state law and/or city ordinance, this employer will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
