Orthodontic Dental Assistant

The Orthodontic Assistant plays a vital role in the success of Robinson & Ries Orthodontics, serving as a key supporting member of our doctor team. This role involves assisting with various activities, working closely with patients and doctors, and striving to be a positive, friendly, and professional addition to the team.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Interaction: Establish a trusting rapport with patients, ensuring exceptional customer service and educating them on orthodontic care and treatment practices.
- Chairside Assistance: Work closely with patients, assisting in placing and removing orthodontic appliances, taking X-Rays, pictures, and fabricating retainers.
- Chart Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, transcribing doctor notes and keeping patient rooms stocked and organized.
- Equipment Preparation: Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment for patient use, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Professional Development: Be receptive to coaching and training from doctors to develop skills and improve performance.
- Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of orthodontics, associated treatment appliances, and equipment used.
- Communication: Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate techniques and information to patients and staff.
- Compassion and Integrity: Show compassion and a high level of service for patients, parents, and staff, while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
- Reliability and Attention to Detail: Be dependable, reliable, and attentive to detail, with the ability to stay organized and follow instructions.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relative experience in a dental or orthodontic setting.
