Job Title: Youth Specialist

The Flourish Initiative is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for youth in our care.

Job Summary:

The Youth Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential program, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our residents. This includes building trusting relationships, providing guidance and support, and facilitating their transition to independent living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other staff to ensure comprehensive wrap-around support for residents.
  • Teach and model independent living skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Assist residents with daily tasks, such as dressing, homework, and hygiene.
  • Transport residents to school, work, and other activities as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain confidentiality.
  • Participate in Flourish Initiative events and stay up-to-date on evidence-based best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field, such as Social Work, Education, or Human Development.
  • Valid Missouri Driver's license and ability to pass state and federal background screening.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Authentic engagement and trust-building skills with diverse individuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with marginalized youth and/or families.
  • Skilled in public speaking and creating presentations.
  • Project management and/or program coordination experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
