Role Overview
The Shift Leader collaborates closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to oversee essential operations within the store. This includes ensuring that employees complete their tasks efficiently, maintaining store cleanliness, and delivering exceptional customer service through effective team management.

Key Responsibilities
The Shift Leader is accountable for the store's overall functionality and presentation during the absence of higher management. The primary duties include:

  • Adhering to established policies and ensuring compliance among team members.
  • Providing outstanding service by fostering a welcoming environment, greeting guests, and maintaining high standards of product knowledge.
  • Overseeing task completion and ensuring all team members fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness by ensuring the floor is swept and mopped, and managing safety protocols.
  • Monitoring restroom conditions, delegating tasks, and collaborating with team members to uphold store cleanliness and stock levels.
  • Ensuring merchandising standards, display quality, signage, and inventory management are consistently met.
  • Reporting equipment issues promptly to management.
  • Maintaining compliance with Health Department Standards.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of equipment protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Effectively operating the Point of Sale system and training team members accordingly.
  • Assisting management in planning and assigning shift tasks.
  • Following vendor check-in procedures diligently.
  • Ensuring participation in the Secret Shopper Program and achieving high interaction scores.
  • Enforcing policies regarding age-restricted items and ensuring compliance among team members.
  • Verifying that all employees possess valid licenses for selling alcohol.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is preferred.

Experience: Familiarity with health department standards is advantageous. Previous experience with cash registers and credit card machines is preferred. Candidates must be capable of handling cash transactions.

Working Environment
This position operates in a retail environment, typically indoors in a controlled climate. The role requires prolonged periods of standing and may involve irregular hours. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands, including lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds or more. Additionally, there may be exposure to various hazards, including equipment that could cause burns, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and potential electrical conditions.
