Psychiatric Care Technician for ECT Unit

This role is designated for a Mental Health Technician primarily supporting the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) clinic. Alongside clinic duties, you will be cross-trained to assist with ECT patient registration and provide care within the Inpatient Psychiatry unit. You will be responsible for a variety of patient care tasks and unit support functions under the guidance of a qualified Medical Center professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient procedures.
- Ensure a safe environment and the secure delivery of care.
- Take charge of your professional development and contribute to the growth of your colleagues.
- Perform unit support activities as directed by your manager or designated supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Compensation:
Position Compensation Range: $23.82 Hourly
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: If unlicensed, one of the following is required: Documented proof of a minimum of 2 years of experience caring for patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting, a Community Service Board, or equivalent in a direct care position; OR Completion of the first semester of Nursing School.
Licensure: None Required. Preferred: Current active CNA certification through the Virginia Board of Nursing. AAPT Certification, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
BLS certification required.
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequent bending, stooping, and traveling. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential. Attention to detail and the ability to write legibly are necessary. The role may involve lifting, pushing, or pulling weights. Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
