Mental Health Technician 3-4 Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Technician 3-4 to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our inpatient psychiatric unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist professional healthcare staff with patient procedures and ensure a safe environment for delivery of care.
- Provide orientation and development support to new Patient Care Assistants on the inpatient psychiatric unit.
- Assume responsibility for professional development and contribute to the growth of others.
- Perform unit support activities as needed and directed by manager or designee.
- Meet minimum requirements and adhere to licensure and certification standards.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent; Associate's degree in psychology, social sciences, or humanities preferred.
- Documented proof of 4 years of experience caring for patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting, a Community Service Board, or equivalent as a direct care provider.
- Current active CNA certification through the Virginia Board of Nursing or AAPT Certification.
The job requires frequent bending, stooping, and traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are essential, as well as attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift, push, and pull 20-50lbs is also required.
May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
