Job Overview:
As a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective solutions to intricate challenges. Your expertise will be crucial in customizing advanced solutions tailored to meet the distinct needs of our clients.

Your focus on application development will enhance the end-user experience, while we prioritize your professional advancement.


In this position, you will be tasked with the implementation, support, and upkeep of all components of the Linux infrastructure associated with the project. This includes both virtual and physical servers, as well as software resources.

We seek an individual with substantial technical knowledge in various configuration automation, deployment, and continuous integration technologies, capable of crafting resilient solutions that align with software development demands.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of systems by monitoring performance, configuration, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Assist application teams in the creation, configuration, and deployment of Linux systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deploy new software and enhance existing systems.
  • Engage in project-based development, implementation, and documentation of Linux systems and capabilities, including security enhancements and resource monitoring.
  • Conduct initial troubleshooting of issues and coordinate with other teams to resolve them efficiently.
  • Provide regular updates on project status through established communication channels.
  • Participate in and conduct necessary accreditation support, including scans and audits.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.


A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

At least ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Engineer is essential.


Proficiency in monitoring the health and capacity of Linux system resources using tools such as Nagios and iLO or iDRAC, as well as VMware host console.

Experience assisting multiple development teams with ongoing operations and maintenance tasks, including host creation and general Linux administration support is necessary.


Familiarity with project-based development and implementation of new Linux hardware and software capabilities, alongside providing general Linux system administration guidance to various development teams, is required.
