Position Summary:

We are in search of a Linux Systems Engineer to assist in the deployment and upkeep of all facets of an internal Linux infrastructure. This infrastructure encompasses both virtual and physical servers along with software resources.

The Linux Systems Engineer should have the following qualifications:

Previous experience as a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator, particularly with RHEL/CentOS (installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting). Experience in developing Puppet modules for server builds (Kickstart) and maintenance automation. Familiarity with integrating automation tools such as TFTP, DHCP, and DNS. Knowledge of Centrify and Active Directory integration, along with management of Linux groups, accounts, and servers. Proficiency in one or more scripting languages: Puppet, Shell, Perl/CGI, Python. Experience working with Linux in a cloud-based environment. Skills in managing and monitoring Linux server resources within a VMWare/VSphere setting. Capability to build and maintain all Linux Virtual Machines. Experience with automation tools, including Puppet and Ansible, CGI/Perl, and Python. Direct experience with hardware maintenance and firmware updates for HP DL Series Servers, Dell PowerEdge R630/730 Servers, and iLOM/iDRAC usage.

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field, or equivalent education, technical training, or work/military experience. A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant Systems and Linux Engineering experience. Experience in monitoring health and capacity, and troubleshooting Linux system resources using Nagios and iLO or iDRAC and VMware host console. Comfortable assisting multiple development teams with ongoing operations and maintenance tasks (host creation, system performance issues, hardware issues, general Linux administration support, Centrify/AD support, etc.). Coordination and escorting of vendors into the Data Center for hardware component replacements on Linux systems. Experience with project-based development and implementation of new Linux hardware and software capabilities (Security enhancements, Central Logging, Resource Monitoring and Notification, Dev/Ops Automation, etc.). Participation in and conducting relevant accreditation support (scans, automation, auditing, etc.) of Linux systems. Providing general Linux system administration guidance and support to various development teams (disk management, account creation, design reviews, etc.). Create, manage, and update Linux servers in a cloud environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with SQL querying of relational databases, such as MySQL. Familiarity with Nutanix and HPCC technologies. Experience with Python and Ansible for automating system administration and configuration tasks. Knowledge of setting up Docker clusters using Swarm and/or Kubernetes. Experience with HP Apollo 4000 and 2000 systems architectures. Familiarity with git for Infrastructure code management.

Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.
