About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to join our team at Jacobs. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure, including scripts and code to provision and configure resources.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes for cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring that changes are tested, approved, and deployed in an automated and secure manner.
  • Ensure that cloud-based infrastructure is maintained and optimized, monitoring performance, diagnosing, and troubleshooting issues, and making necessary changes to optimize system performance.
  • Ensure that cloud-based infrastructure meets security and compliance requirements, working with IT security and compliance teams to implement security and compliance controls and ensure that they are being followed.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, including developers, operations, and security teams, to ensure that cloud-based infrastructure meets the organization's requirements and can support its goals.
  • Manage and maintain an IT enterprise of Virtual Machine environments (Nutanix or VMware) hosting MS Windows servers, Linux environments, and Citrix VDI services.
  • Create supporting documentation and utilize self-documenting scripting/coding techniques for service consumers as well as business users to be able to understand your products.
  • Identify and diagnose complex performance, security, and technical issues.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility
  • Current DODD 8140/8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) required (such as CCNA Security, Security+ CE, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
  • At least 15 years of IT experience, inclusive of the following minimum specific experience:
    • 5 years of experience with various cloud automation technologies, including cloud infrastructure as code, containerization, and orchestration technologies
    • 2 years of experience managing Nutanix HCI environments, to include configuration of a cluster and the components needed to create and manage VMs (networks and images)
    • 2 years of experience managing Citrix VDI services
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification within 6 months of hire (previously Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification)
    • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP)
    • Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
    • Experience developing IT checklists, SOPs, guides, etc.
    • Ability to travel up to 10%
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT related field
    • Citrix Certified Administrator (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire)
    • Certified Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Administration (ECA)
    • Demonstrated experience in analysis simulation environment, configuring and troubleshooting software/hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades in a dynamic information systems-hosting environment
