Senior Engineer, Alloy Technology

Arconic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, Alloy Technology to join our Technology Center in New Kensington, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experimental work to enhance the understanding of aluminum alloy sheet and plate products.
  • Relate microstructures and processes to physical and mechanical properties.
  • Analyze experimental results and make recommendations for plant processing of new products.
  • Independently troubleshoot issues related to property excursions in sheet and plate products.
  • Establish root causes and solve material/process-related problems.
  • Collaborate with Arconic application engineers and customers to develop project goals.
  • Collaborate with various teams to guide the design of experiments and interpretation of results.
  • Support the development of Intellectual Property protection for new alloy products.
  • Communicate progress/results through qualification packages, presentations, and reports.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Materials Science & Engineering or related field.
  • 2 years related experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
