**About the Role**
As a Student Electronics Engineer at Southwest Research Institute, you will be part of a dynamic team that develops cutting-edge avionics and payload solutions for a diverse range of clients. You will utilize leading-edge technology to design, analyze, document, verify, and test digital electronics hardware for space applications.
**Key Responsibilities**- Support the design, analysis, documentation, verification, and test of digital electronics hardware for space applications, including command and control, data storage, signal processing, and communications;
- Participate in the full lifecycle design for related flight digital electronics in high-reliability systems for space applications, performing analysis and implementing designs from concept to hardware;
- Collaborate with a team of full-time engineers to achieve project goals.
- Learn from full-time staff responsible for design, test, and delivery of printed circuit boards, FPGA, and potentially, embedded processor designs;
- Complete worst-case timing analysis and other necessary analysis to justify related digital electronics;
- Work with full-time staff to understand the full PCB life cycle, including providing direction to PCB designers/manufacturers, and working within an integrated project team with other disciplines such as packaging, parts, reliability, production, and quality assurance.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science;
- 0-2 years of experience in circuit design, with emphasis on power electronics and/or digital design;
- Familiarity with FPGA development;
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
