About Wunder Capital
Wunder Capital is pioneering a Modern Energy Company focused on addressing the urgent crisis of our generation through the rapid deployment of solar energy solutions. Our mission is to empower businesses, municipalities, and educational institutions to reduce costs while providing clean, on-site energy. We transform conventional warehouses into advanced industrial platforms designed for future energy needs. Our goal is to help leading commercial and industrial real estate entities harness the advantages of solar energy across their properties, aligning environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives with financial performance.
Currently, Wunder Capital manages over $1 billion in solar assets and has assessed more than 10,000 properties for solar potential nationwide. Our average solar installation, approximately 480 kilowatts, can eliminate the equivalent of 350,000 pounds of coal emissions annually.
The Position
As the Head of Construction Operations, you will oversee the development of large-scale solar projects across the country. Your responsibilities will include managing the entire construction lifecycle for a portfolio of solar initiatives, from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Final Acceptance. This role transcends traditional development responsibilities, as you will implement standardization practices in the underutilized sub-megawatt commercial and industrial sector by leveraging Wunder's cutting-edge technology platform.
In this capacity, you will collaborate with various internal departments to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. You will take the lead in partnering with and managing our Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners and vendors. Furthermore, you will develop and enhance robust processes and systems that foster growth, profitability, and repeatability.
If you are passionate about unlocking the potential of the commercial and industrial market, eager to join a rapidly growing team, and committed to making a positive impact on the world, this role is designed for you.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in Construction Management - You possess 5–10+ years of experience managing intricate construction projects, with a proven ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely execution and delivery. You are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and proactively addressing risks to prevent disruptions to timelines or budgets.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized - You maintain a meticulous approach to problem-solving and deliverables, ensuring that all details necessary for achieving milestones are addressed promptly and within budget, while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Customer-Focused - You have a strong track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed about project developments, timelines, and expectations.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinker - You possess the ability to analyze project economics and timelines quantitatively, making informed decisions that maximize value for clients while minimizing risks for Wunder. You can identify potential risks and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Effective Communicator - You excel in communication across diverse audiences, seamlessly engaging with internal stakeholders, project owners, senior management, construction partners, financing partners, and clients to provide clear and concise project updates.
- Team-Oriented - You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment filled with passionate individuals. You enjoy collaborating across functions and seek opportunities to work with others.
- Adaptable & Responsive - You are capable of quickly adjusting to the evolving challenges of our industry, responding efficiently to changes as they arise.
- Problem Solver - You believe that no challenge is insurmountable. You excel at articulating and implementing solutions, recognizing that multiple approaches can address the same issue. You continuously seek innovative ways to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Location Requirement - Candidates should be willing to relocate to the Boulder/Denver area and be open to traveling to project sites as needed.
