Job Description

Apollo Safety, Inc. is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and internal control policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cost accounting.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Process daily billing, receipts, and credit applications, and resolve billing disputes.
  • Enter accounts payable invoices.
  • Process check runs.
  • Enter credit card charges into the accounting system.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, aging, and collections activity.
  • Monitor accounts payable, aging, and collections activity.
  • Process month-end closing for A/R, A/P, and Inventory.
  • Process monthly commission reports.
  • Assist with general journal entries and bank reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Five or more years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
  • Associate degree in accounting and relevant business courses.
  • A strong skill set with personal computers, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software.
  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work independently in a confidential environment.
