Safety Manager

Hooper Deforest seeks a highly skilled Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives and ensure a safe working environment for our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational safety and health, with experience in electric power construction or industrial safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with project management and field crews to ensure safe working practices.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and investigations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
- OSHA 10/30 Construction Trainer certification and CUSP (Certified Utility Safety Professional) certification desired.
- Minimum 1-5 years of experience in electric power construction or industrial safety.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- 80% field construction site work and 20% office environment.
- Regularly works from a sitting position with a computer.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders and steps, work on uneven ground, and drive short, medium, and long distances.
