Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Portable Fire Equipment Technician to join our team at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety. This role involves ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of portable fire safety devices.

This position requires the ability to inspect, test, and perform fire extinguisher checks in accordance with local fire codes. You will also be responsible for identifying system deficiencies and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings.
  • Test and repair existing fire extinguishers.
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed correctly.
  • Document any issues found during inspections.
  • Report work completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain company equipment in good condition.
  • Inspect and maintain company vehicles and related equipment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Work in a safe manner, adhering to company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Requirements:

  • A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards is beneficial.
  • Experience working with fire extinguishers is desirable.
  • Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling requirements, including evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, codes, and regulations.
