Responsibilities- Develops new funding or grant streams of revenue, including conducting research, writing proposals, and managing grants.
- Performs program planning, implementation, and evaluation to meet university and stakeholder needs.
- Directs reservation-wide community outreach and education programs in horticulture and agriculture.
- Identifies and analyzes community needs and selects priority areas for programming.
- Develops research projects, seeks grant funding, and manages grant awards.
- Manages a propagation greenhouse, supervises student workers, and purchases supplies.
- Runs a garden mentorship and training program, coaching families through their first and second years of gardening.
- Teaches workshops on gardening and related topics to the public.
- Assists in designing, teaching, and assessing undergraduate Agribusiness and Soil Health courses.
- Implements Ag in the classroom curricula for local public and charter schools.
- Oversees a team of student workers, provides training and guidance, and maintains inventory of greenhouse equipment and supplies.
Estimated Salary: $62,400 per year.
