Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing targeted reading support to elementary students, working closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective literacy strategies, and collaborating with colleagues to drive student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted reading support to elementary students: Work with students in small groups or one-on-one to address reading deficits and develop reading skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers: Develop and implement effective literacy strategies, provide coaching and support to teachers, and work together to drive student achievement.
  • Develop and implement literacy programs: Design and implement reading programs that meet the needs of elementary students, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Assess and track student progress: Regularly assess student reading skills and track progress to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians: Keep parents and guardians informed about student progress, provide regular updates, and involve them in their child's reading development.
  • Participate in professional development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in reading instruction and to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field: Required.
  • Experience working with elementary students: Required.
  • Strong knowledge of reading instruction: Required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Required.
