Responsibilities of a Fire Protection System Inspector:

  • Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, along with backflow preventers, water tanks, fire hydrants, foam-based systems, water mist systems, and fire pumps in accordance with NFPA 25 standards.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including recommendations for deficiency repairs. Discuss identified deficiencies, potential solutions, and pricing with clients, and follow up on corrective measures.
  • Adhere to structured inspection schedules, performing service and deficiency repairs on all types of fire sprinkler systems as required. Maintain thorough and accurate records of all tests conducted and complete service ticket documentation and inspection reports prior to leaving the client site. Generate reports using Siemens tools and upload them to the appropriate municipal websites.
  • Provide guidance to client personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; assist in training efforts.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to colleagues.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
  • Proven ability to interpret design and construction documents.
  • Hands-on experience in estimating impairments, deficiencies, and service repairs.
  • Must achieve NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems Level II or state certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to carry and maneuver equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted, and proficiency in using hand tools, laptops, email, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license with minimal violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continuous and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
