About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Buckner Retirement Services Community. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate resident care management and staff direction to deliver exceptional care and services.
  • Administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians, including intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and perform in-house testing procedures.
  • Take and record vital signs, and make meaningful rounds of all residents to ensure their health care plans are being followed.
  • Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
  • Supervise aides in the performance of their duties, assign tasks, and ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation.
  • Direct charting on their shift and make detailed evaluations of all resident charting in accordance with facility policy, regulatory guidelines, and resident status.
  • Recognize significant changes in the condition of the resident and take necessary action as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Professionally communicate with resident families and respond to questions or concerns.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Texas nursing license.
  • Must complete and/or meet training, certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas.
  • Previous experience in long term care is preferred.
