Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team at Ingraham High School. As a key member of our special education department, you will provide essential support to students with diverse needs, helping them to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with special needs in a resource classroom setting, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Assist with classroom management and organization, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support and services.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in special education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a high school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
