About the Role

Epiphany School is in search of a full-time Educational Support Specialist for our Lower School division, specifically to assist in a pre-kindergarten classroom. The ideal candidate will collaborate with lead educators and specialists to provide a diverse range of support in daily tasks and instructional activities. Responsibilities include aiding in curriculum delivery, managing educational resources, engaging with students, and participating in various activities that enhance teaching and learning in both homeroom and specialist settings. This position also involves active participation in professional development and school community events.

This is a non-exempt, full-time position during the academic year. Typical work hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with extended hours on Wednesdays for staff meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Assist lead educators and specialists in planning and implementing the curriculum.
  • Engage with students in various group settings, including whole class, small groups, and one-on-one.
  • Support classroom management efforts.
  • Serve as the classroom lead in the absence of the lead teacher; instruct students directly during co-teaching and enrichment sessions.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team on curriculum planning and thematic alignment.
  • Participate in our Professional Learning Community.
  • Utilize equitable practices to support all learners.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials and supplies.
  • Assist in the student assessment process.
  • Help classroom teachers and learning specialists evaluate individual student needs.
  • Coordinate and monitor teaching activities, including field trips and experiential learning opportunities.
  • May accompany lead teachers during parent conferences.
Secondary Duties
  • Provide coverage during lunch and recess.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities within Epiphany School and the broader educational community as time permits.
  • Participate in school admission, development, and community events as time allows.
  • Contribute to committees and provide input on school-related decisions as possible.
Qualifications
  • We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and lifelong learning, along with expertise in best practices in elementary education.
  • A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Teaching Certification and endorsement in relevant grade or field are preferred.
  • Experience working with children in PreK-5, particularly in third grade, is preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and comfort in a technology-rich environment.
  • Must be collaborative, proactive, resourceful, and organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to respond effectively in emergencies.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary range for this role is competitive and based on experience, in accordance with Epiphany School's instructional assistant pay scale.
