High Tension Electrician

The High Tension Electrician will work as part of the Campus Services Electrical Distribution Group at Harvard University. The position is involved in all aspects of installation, operations, metering, and maintenance of the university's low and medium voltage distribution systems, ensuring safe and reliable delivery of electric power to the campus.
Key Responsibilities- Work with electrical distribution systems and equipment (up to 15KV) including underground manholes and ductbanks, control wiring and power cable systems, distribution type transformers, air and gas filled primary disconnect switches, power circuit breakers and switchgear, capacitor banks, power fuses, stationary control battery banks, protective relaying and metering, and electrical enclosures and controls.
- Observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and University standards.
- Perform other core skills of the trades and related duties as required.
- Massachusetts Journeyman's License
- Valid Massachusetts state driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to stoop and bend repeatedly, work on hands and knees, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work alone, in confined spaces, and extreme temperatures, climb multiple sets of stairs, work off ladders, staging, lifts, or other elevated platforms.
