This crucial hourly role ensures our manufacturing operations run smoothly by maintaining and troubleshooting equipment./ppThe ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical skills and a commitment to safety./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ullibSafely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment./b/lilibInstall new machinery and ensure all operations comply with plant policies and procedures./b/lilibWork with machinery such as motors, pneumatic/hydraulic components, conveyor systems, and production lines./b/lilibRead and interpret diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications./b/lilibUtilize hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments./b/lilibAddress all mechanical and electrical maintenance issues throughout the plant./b/lilibPerform additional duties as required./b/li/ulh3Basic Qualifications/h3ullibHigh school diploma or equivalent./b/lilibMinimum of 3 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment, or an Associate or technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronic Technology, or related field./b/lilibProficiency in working with conveyors, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication./b/lilibExperience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC motors, drives, encoders, resolvers, control systems, bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems./b/lilibAbility to read electrical and maintenance schematics/blueprints./b/lilibProficient in diagnosing mechanical and electronic systems using various tools and computers./b/lilibWillingness to work in high or confined spaces, loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume environments./b/lilibAbility to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks (lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, climbing, and stooping) for extended periods, with or without accommodation./b/lilibKnowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA standards./b/lilibCompetent in using computer-based systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite./b/lilibFlexibility to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required./b/lilibWillingness to share and gain knowledge from other technicians and machine operators./b/li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ullibPrevious experience in the corrugated industry./b/lilib3+ years as an industrial electrician or maintenance mechanic./b/lilibCurrent certification or an Associate or technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronic Technology, or related field./b/li/ulpDS Smith is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to diversity in the workforce.
