Job Overview

HANAC, Inc. is a multi-faceted social services organization serving vulnerable populations in New York City.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Administrator to manage financial records and support property management activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate accounting records, analyze budgets, and create comprehensive financial reports.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payment of bills.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile bank accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Budget Preparation: Assist with budget preparation and track expenses against the approved budget.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations, including tax compliance.
  • Lease Renewals: Support lease renewal processes in accordance with HUD and affordable housing regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when handling financial data.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records.
  • Mathematical and Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in basic math and ability to analyze financial data.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication capabilities to interact with vendors, tenants, and management staff.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with Yardi Voyager, Checkscan, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma; an associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar role, especially within property management, is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HUD and managing affordable housing portfolios is required.

The estimated salary for this position is up to $55,000 per year.
