The hourly base pay rate is $19.62/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Overview

This role is essential for the accurate check-in and external registration of customer vehicles intended for auction sales, primarily conducted outdoors at the entry point.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately input vehicle details into the AS400 system using a handheld device or relay information to a colleague for data entry for each vehicle received, including:
    • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
    • Stock number.
    • Dealer identification number.
    • Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
    • Attach barcode/stock number label on each vehicle received.
  • Affix work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry. Identify vehicles without keys.
  • Guide transporters to the designated vehicle drop-off area. Report any transport-related damages as necessary.
  • Capture digital images of vehicles upon arrival.
  • Provide the appropriate sale identification code to the driver of the vehicle entering the registration/check-in area.
  • Exhibit a commitment to safety by adhering to all safety and health protocols and demonstrating related behaviors.
  • Collaborate with safety leadership to support all safety initiatives aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager or supervisor, such as assisting on sale days by driving vehicles through auction lanes.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Generally, less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license required; safe driving record essential.
  • Basic computer proficiency required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in auction and/or vehicle registration preferred.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise level.

To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive maintains a drug-free workplace; possession, use, or being under the influence of illegal drugs during work hours is prohibited.
