Job Title: Deputy Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Deputy Clerk to join our team at the Orange County Clerk of Courts. As a Deputy Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the court, ensuring the efficient processing of court records and associated payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform a wide range of clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Process and maintain court records, including processing payments and issuing receipts.
  • Assist with the preparation and assembly of court documents, including creating labels and matching data and documentation.
  • Perform cashier work, including receiving and accounting for cash, checks, and other forms of payment.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of records and filing systems, ensuring the secure storage and retrieval of sensitive information.
  • Administer oaths and participate in cross-training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support the efficient functioning of the assigned work unit.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing direct contact customer service or general office work, ideally in a legal setting.
  • Florida Driver's License.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the judiciary, legal community, and the general public.
Working Conditions:

This is a safety and security-sensitive position, requiring a high degree of public trust in protecting court records and individual personally identifiable information. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check and obtain any necessary certifications or training.
